About Me

To start I would just like to say hello and thank you for checking out my little blog slash portfolio.  I have set this page up mainly to demonstrate my animation and modeling techniques as well as a few other things I have learned.  At first glance for anyone who is in the industry i am sure that everything you see here will not be all that impressive.  Sadly as of the past few years since graduating form college I have focused more on the jub that is paying my school bills then the job I truly wish to have.

I recently have decided to just give it a go and see what i can accomplish with what i have.  So the following is a simply a portfolio showing the work i did mainly for a company called Everfire Studios.  While working for this company I started as a simple environment animator.  this particular job lasted only for a few months due to "restructuring" of the company.  Afterwards i was placed in the position of Lead Animator and then moved onto Assistant Product Owner.

With that being said I want to point out that i spent only eight months with the company.  In that short time i however was part of a small group of people who work on what could have been a good game.  Cyber Solstice was a simple shooter designed for the Ouya Console.  I managed to learn a lot about animation and 3D modeling.  Not only that but about the work flow needed to complete projects and the amount of time that is needed to do so.

Not just from a personal stand point but also from the stand point of a leader.  All in all the experience was very good even if the game was never really finished.  It was however released in an alpha stage on the Ouya and had been reviewed.  Everything you see following this is based mainly off the skill I had to develop on my own over a very short period of time.  I am very apt at teaching myself how to do things, and to top it off i am highly motivated as well.

Programs

Aside from all the information i have put in my previous post I would also like to add in the programs i was using to do this work.

For all the modeling and animation work done I used Autodesk 3DS Max.  Though this program is not normally used for animation I personal like using it.  I do however have experience in using Maya as well.

I have used Zbrush as well though i couldn't use it on Cyber Solstice do to Poly count limitations.

Adobe Photoshop was the main software used to do all the texturing for the models.

I am also able to use Illustrator proficiently though most of my experience is with Photoshop.

As for animation specific programs I am able to use Adobe Flash, Primer, and After Effects.

The main thing is this, I have used all these programs some more then others.  However I would like to point out though i went to college, I was all working full time and the college was online.  Mainly the point here is i managed to teach myself how to use these programs using books and resources on the internet.  Which means I can teach myself to use any program efficiently.

I may not be able to use every aspect right away but I will be able to learn was is absolutely needed to do a job in a very short period of time.  I have no problem doing this either.  If you give me the reason I will have the determination to learn and the will to not stop until I have learned what i need to know to do the job.

The following is an example of the work I did on a game called Cyber Solstice.  The game it self was developed to be played on the Ouya using te Unity Game engine.  For a more in depth look into the game follow the following link.

Sadly the game did not make it past alpha stages do to in house problems.

Character

These Characters were modeled, textured and Animated by myself.
I used 3ds Max to model and animate, Photoshop and Gimp to texture.

Enviornment Animation

These are some doors used in the first portion of Cyber Solstice.
The doors were modeled, textured, and animated myself.  They are not perfect but again I didn't have much experience at the time.  I used 3ds max to model the doors and Gimp to do the texturing.

Bait Shop Flyer

This was a flyer done for a local bait shop.  I was told it actually helped stir up some business.  I have to take there word on it though.

Long Coat Magic Logo

The following are two separate logos for a pair of magicians in the area near me.  The logos were done using Photoshop.  The first is one used for there flyers and business cards.  The second one is used for T-shirts they have made to sell at shows.
